Invitation to Participate

Riding season is almost upon us, and Road to Freedom Biker Mission is, once again,
spearheading (organizing) numerous ministry opportunities within the biker community for
the upcoming season.  In addition to “Biker Blessings/Prayers” and rest stops at secular
rallies, we are looking forward to water (refreshment) stops for many of the local rides.
These stops open up opportunities to share Christ through service.  Since we are a small
congregation, we encourage other Christians to join us in these ministry opportunities.  You
don’t have to ride a motorcycle to participate in these events.  In fact, we need people with
vehicles to help transport the items to the events.  These are great mission activities, and we
provide any necessary training prior to the events.

The largest local event is the Muscular Dystrophy Ride for a Cure (MDA Ride) “Refreshment
Stop” on June 7, 2008.   During this event, we set up at the Grassy Mountain Rest stop on the
westbound side of the highway from 10:00 AM until around 5:00 PM.  We then set up on the
eastbound side and stay operational all night and on until around 1:00 PM Sunday afternoon
(June 8, 2008).  We provide water and coffee, along with other drinks, and food items.  We
also have, on hand: Tracts, Bibles, Gospel of John, comfort packs, and other items to
enhance spreading the Good News of Christ and His love.  This year, we anticipate having a
mechanics ministry on hand to help bikers experiencing mechanical problems. We provide
“someone to talk with” for those experiencing “Spiritual Challenges”. We are planning on
having a Sunday morning praise service as we did last year around 10:00 AM.  We have
never had an “official” first aid station, but normally have a couple first aid certified people on
hand to help in the event such help is needed; are you qualified and available?  This is not a
fund raiser for those participating.  Any donations received during this event go to the MDA.
This is an opportunity to minister.  We could sure use some people with trucks/trailers to
transport items to and from the rest area, or help with some of the logistical items (see list).
We also need people willing to serve.  Should you desire to participate, or help in any way
with the MDA Ride rest area, or have questions about helping in any of the other upcoming
events, please contact me.

We have also committed to sending a missions team to the Beartooth Rally in Red Lodge,
Montana in July.  We are scheduled to serve breakfast at one of the local campgrounds, set
up a refreshment point in town, and have a music ministry event in the evenings.  I have
attached the proposed logistics list for that event, should God lead you to support that activity,
please contact me.

One of our major projects is the setting up of “comfort packs”.  These packs are distributed at
the rallies and during local events when appropriate.  A standard comfort pack would contain
(sample sizes):  shampoo, conditioner, lip balm, baby powder, soap, hand lotion, hand
sanitizer, and other personal items that we receive which may be beneficial to the bikers.  We
also put out tooth brushes, toothpaste, suntan lotion, disposable razors, shaving cream,
band-aids, along with other items we receive which may be beneficial to the bikers.  Should
you be able to help secure any of these items, or have contacts with any motels who may
desire to donate items, please contact me to arrange receipt of the items.

Thank you and God Bless
Pastor Rob
